MEDIOCRITY

Something called guilt is gnawing me slowly. Wow its been three days since I said anything here. I owe you guys so much trust me three posts is no mean feat. Well the weekend was long with different experiences but some are definitely etched in my mind that is for my memory only-you know a girl has got to giggle to herself sometime-while the other ones are definitely worth sharing.

So one fine Friday morning the girl decides to pay a visit to the GOK offices to get some license. My aim was to go early so that I can leave early I just thank God I was not rushing back to work. I spend 3 freaking hours queuing to get whatever I wanted. The people who were supposed to serve people were behaving like they are the kings. If you go for a job that needs you to have people skills please polish up on your game. Some of them behaved as if that was the last job on earth and they had a gun held to their heads to get them agree to it. I have never been so mad in a looong while.

The only way to get served at this place was to speak a certain dialect or to personally know whoever was serving you. Well I can understand the old man because probably he has worked there for ages and he is so accustomed to being rude and untoward but I pitied the young man (he seemed to be around my age or SLIGHTLY older) who had joined the bandwagon of stupidity. I know change begins with us and the young people are always up in arms against the old men and their way of doing things but it is definitely another thing if you go ahead and join them and  help carry along their mediocrity.

Looking at the whole situation I think we entertain this kind of nonsense. We are very greedy and mannerless and very selfish too. All wrapped up in one and you do have a disaster waiting to happen. We are not courteous enough to wait patiently for your turn and because you think you are special you will pay to be given better treatment. This is not right it is actually a bribe. Sometimes in the city there is a traffic snarl up looking closely it has something to do with people with inflated egos. So just take a deep breath and look at yourself and say you are the change you want to see and it must start with you.
